Phoenix to Florence

Our departure date was Thursday, January 25th and fortunately my parents were with me to endure this long day ahead. The first leg of our 16 hour travel day was a quick flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Salt Lake City, Utah. After a 30 minute delay, we arrived in Salt Lake and walked briskly to our next gate to ensure we weren't going to miss our international flight. We made it in time and boarded our plane from Salt Lake City to Paris. With the winds in our favor, we arrived in Paris about 9 hours later. After deplaning, we had to get on a bus to go through security and customs. This process took longer than expected. We walked to our next gate and realized we only had 5 minutes to spare before boarding began. It was a quick process however because of the terribly rainy weather, we ended up sitting on the plane for an extra hour. This was the point in which I started getting exhausted as I hadn't slept at all yet. After an hour and a half we landed in cloudy Florence, Italy. My stress was relieved when all of our bags made it safely and the taxi line was super short. We checked into our Airbnb and took quick naps to power through for dinner that night. It was a long day but with all things considered, it was a very smooth 16 hour travel day. Now time to enjoy the sights of beautiful Florence, Italy before school begins!
