Another weekend, another early morning flight, and this weekend to Switzerland! After a couple flights and trains, we made it to Interlaken first. We walked around town and grabbed the famous chocolate covered strawberries from a place called Funky Chocolate. In town, the sky was covered with paragliders, getting us excited for the next day. After some buses and a gondola ride, we arrived to our Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald. This hostel was the coziest and cutest place in the world, it felt like a warm hug walking inside. We checked in and soaked in the views surrounding the property. Eventually, we got fondue and pizza from the restaurant in the hostel and it hit the spot. We were exhausted from our long day and went to bed early.

Saturday, March 16th, our day started with complimentary breakfast at the hostel and a quick gondola ride over to Mürren. We walked around Mürren until noon which is when we had our reservation for paragliding. After getting boots, going up a ski lift, and setting up the parachute, we were ready to paraglide. We waited for the wind to calm and for the clouds to roll out, then suddenly it was go time. In the blink of an eye, we were running, jumping off the mountain, and in the air. Being in the air was was such a peaceful experience as we were surrounded by endless mountains and waterfalls. Paragliding in Switzerland was definitely the craziest experience of my life, but in the best way possible. We grabbed lunch afterwards and had a perfect view of the beautiful mountains. We continued to explore Mürren and eventually made our way back to the hostel for dinner that evening.

The next day, Sunday March 17th, we woke up and grabbed breakfast at the hostel again. Soon after, some of us had to leave early to get home to study for midterms. After taking more buses and trains, we arrived in Interlaken, and got a delicious Mexican lunch. Finally, two trains later, we arrived back in Florence and called it a weekend. I can confidently say that Switzerland has been my favorite place I've visited while studying abroad. It offers everything from snow activities, lakes, hikes, good food and even greater people. Safe to say, I will definitely be back!
