Back in Paris

Two weeks later, and we're back in Paris, this time with my mom! Our trip began on Thursday, April 4th when we flew from Florence to Paris. We took a taxi to our hotel to check in, eventually grabbing dinner at a French bistro near us. We shared onion soup for a starter and I got a burger as my main course, it was amazing! We called it an early night because we had to be up early the next morning.

6:15am our alarms go off and we get ready to leave by 7:00am. On our way we stopped for coffee and breakfast before meeting our guide in the designated spot. We got on the bus and began our two hour drive to Château de Chambord. It is one of the most recognizable châteaux in the world because of its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture, which blends traditional French medieval forms with classical Renaissance structures. Chambord is the largest château in the Loire Valley and was built to serve as a hunting lodge for Francis I. This château absolutely blew my mind, it was so big and so gorgeous! We walked around for over an hour before getting back on the bus to head to Blois. We arrived in Blois and walked around before grabbing lunch. After, we drove another hour before arriving at Château de Chenonceau. The Château de Chenonceau is a French château spanning the river Cher, being one of the best-known châteaux of the Loire Valley. The château has a unique history beginning when King Henry II decided to offer it not to the Queen, but to his favorite, Diane de Poitiers. Queen Catherine de’ Medici, widow of Henry II, quickly deposed Diane de Poitiers and installed the authority of the young king, her son. The two women were constantly at war with each other trying to win the château and the king. We did a short wine tasting here before getting walk around for an hour or so. Afterwards we got back on the bus and made our three and a half hour drive back to Paris. We grabbed dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant before crashing.

Luckily, Saturday morning, April 6th, we got to sleep in and have a slow morning. We got coffee and breakfast before heading to the Dior museum. We got tickets ahead of time which saved us the hassle of waiting in the big line. Once inside, I instantly knew this was going to be one of the best museums I had ever seen. Sure enough, it blew my expectations out of the water. There was endless rooms full of dresses and designs by Christian Dior. Each room was unique and so elegantly designed, displaying the beautiful pieces of clothing. We walked around, taking everything in, my jaw on the floor the entire time. It was the most incredible experience, I could not recommend it more! Afterwards, we got lunch at a French bistro near by and I had one of the best caesar salads I've ever had. We headed back to the hotel to check out and head towards Disneyland Paris. We checked into our new hotel and got ready to walk around the Disney Village. Of course, I had to buy some new merchandise to wear the next day for when we went to the park. We went back to the hotel to get some good sleep before our busy next day.

It is 7:00am and we are up, getting ready for our day at Disneyland Paris. We got on the 8:30am bus and waited at the Disneyland Paris gates until they opened at 9:30am. We made our way to the first ride of the day which was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We waited less than 10 minutes before finding ourselves on the ride. This is our absolute favorite ride so we were so ecstatic!! After, we made a short walk to Phantom Manor which we basically walked right on. We decided it was time for coffee and breakfast which we grabbed on Main Street from the Bakery Shop. We sat in front of the castle to enjoy our cappuccinos and beignets! Then, we headed over to Tomorrowland where we did Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, and Hyperspace Mountain. These lines were all under 10 minutes which was absolutely mind-blowing. We continued onto It's a Small World which is so much better in Paris then it is in the states. After, we went on Pirates of the Caribbean and climbed up the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. The last thing we did before leaving for the afternoon was the Disneyland Railroad. We went back to the hotel to regroup for a little before heading back to the park around 6:30pm. The first ride we went back on was Phantom Manor which was just as empty as earlier. Afterwards, we got dinner at the Lucky Horseshoe where we got burgers, fries, and sundaes! Our night continued on to doing Big Thunder twice in a row, waiting only 15 minutes for Peter Pan, and 5 minutes for Pinocchio and Snow White. This would NEVER happen in the states so we were so excited! The last stop of the night was Tomorrowland where we did Star Tours once and I did Hyperspace twice! At 10:45pm we called it a night and our day at Disneyland Paris was complete. We could not have asked for a more perfect day in the park with no wait times, perfect weather, great food and great company! This trip was the perfect girls trip weekend for my mom and I!
